I am a mother (life long carer for two), fiance, daughter, sister and friend. All of those roles are important ones to me but sometimes you just want to press pause for a while and just be you. So here I am, just Charlie.
Read my thoughts on everything and nothing in particular. My musings and ramblings on a life that continues to amaze and confuse me in equal measure daily!
Sometimes, particularly for mums who have the challenge of being a carer too, we can forget who we are when we are busy racing around and thinking of everyone else first so I make no apologies for being unashamedly self indulgent and a little bit sarcastic. I’d love you to meet me as myself as well as my boys Mum. I suggest you bring crackers and cheese – chances are that copious amounts of both will have been consumed in the creation of these blogs. Cheese is what I live for – after the boys, obvs!
5 ways to feel less anxious wearing a face mask
I have to admit, I didn't expect to feel as anxious as I did on day one of wearing my face mask while I shopped. I appreciate that our NHS workers (including my Mum and Sister) are wearing full PPE for hours on end and they all have my utmost respect. I am in no way...
COVID 19; Why protecting our children isn’t always helpful
Ok so first of all I want to say that this is as far from a public health announcement as you can get. Parents and carers absolutely should be protecting our children; ensuring that they are washing their hands regularly, observing social distancing wherever possible...
Making a difference with Sense International

January 4th celebrates World Braille Day but if you, like me, have no idea about the origins of braille then you're in for an interesting couple of minutes as the story is a fascinating one. Louis Braille was born on 4th January 1809 in a small village near Paris. One...
Dear Santa…A Mothers Letter
Dear Santa, Yes, I know you're not real. I have paid the shopping bill and swore at the elusive end of the sellotape enough times to know that its all on me but just for once, I am trusting, in the same way that millions of children do every year, in the power of...
Do you always practice what you preach?
I recently turned double 20 years old (not that I am in denial or anything) and as part of my celebrations my fiance Andrew and I went out with friends. While we were out, my lovely friend Sophie who had arranged the surprise night away pulled a gift from her handbag...
